IDF Field Software
Built and used during reserve service · internal, not publicly available
During reserve service I built three pieces of software the unit actually adopted: an incident dashboard for the population war room, a field SOP checklist for officers on site, and a duty-roster generator the unit's editors still maintain. They are internal tools, so there are no links; the screens shown use test data, and unit and operational details are left out.
Role
Solo developer — built on my own initiative during reserve duty, iterated with the people using it.
Outcome
All three tools in use by the unit; the roster generator is maintained by multiple editors.

What I built
- Incident dashboard: open incidents by company with type and location, a per-incident headcount reconciliation (anchor list minus accounted equals missing, flagged in red), one-tap WhatsApp status summaries, and an auditable action log of every change with JSON and text export.
- Duty roster generator: a constraint-based scheduler that fills soldier and officer slots across a project window. Hard constraints first (rest periods between shifts, daily and weekly limits, availability windows down to the hour, per-person shift-type bans, incompatibility rules, rotation groups by date range), then a fairness score that balances load across people.
- When a slot cannot be filled the generator says why: each unfilled slot lists the blocking constraints and how many people each one excluded, so the editor knows which rule to loosen or who to drag in.
- Rotation plans tile groups back-to-back to the end of the project and can be re-applied from a given date when the pattern changes mid-project; the periods table stays hand-editable.
- Drag-and-drop editing with live violation warnings, weekly grid view, per-person load and weekend counts, styled Excel export, and a setup wizard that builds a whole project in a few steps.
- Full Hebrew and English with RTL layout, client-side persistence, JSON export/import so several editors can share state without a backend.
- Field checklist tool: a mobile-first SOP app for emergency-response officers, driven by a JSON procedure file with per-section progress, print-ready output and instant reset between incidents.
